Our First Pyrolysis Unit Completed in China – Environmentally Conscious Innovation in Plastic Waste Recycling

We are pleased to announce the completion of our first pyrolysis unit in China, developed using internationally recognized technology by Beston Group. This development marks a significant milestone for SlavkaSk, a nonprofit organization, and represents a key step toward implementing sustainable waste management solutions.

The newly installed unit is capable of efficiently processing less than 10 tons of non-hazardous plastic waste per day. Through a closed-system pyrolysis process, high-quality pyrolysis oil is produced, which remains liquid even at low temperatures thanks to the catalytic distillation system employed during the procedure.

The resulting pyrolysis oil offers valuable recycling opportunities for several industries:

  • It can be used as a release agent in the concrete industry,
  • It can serve as an industrial lubricant for various machines and systems,
  • It can be a chemical raw material for producing recyclable plastics.

Another advantage of this technology is the utilization of the non-condensable syngas generated during pyrolysis. Using a separate module, we extract additional oil derivatives from the gas while significantly reducing its volume. The remaining gas is stored in a high-pressure tank and is destroyed in a licensed incineration facility under controlled conditions, thereby minimizing environmental impact.

Due to regulatory requirements set by environmental authorities in several European countries – including Hungary – certain components of the unit must be modified. We have also agreed with our partners that their team will assist us in sourcing suitable suppliers for the high-pressure tank and gas compressor, which will form an integral part of the complete pyrolysis system.

The testing phase of the pilot equipment is scheduled to last 30 days, during which we will fine-tune operations and complete all necessary adjustments for optimal performance.

Throughout the entire technological process, only a minimal amount of slag and soot is produced. These are classified as non-hazardous waste and will be treated and disposed of in accordance with applicable regulations.

The physical arrival of the unit is expected in August 2025, with production scheduled to begin in October. In the meantime, we continue to prepare the facility and finalize the permits required for operation.

This marks our first step into pyrolysis-based waste processing, and we firmly believe that in the future, additional equipment and partnerships will enable us to further contribute to addressing global environmental challenges.

The SlavkaSk Team

Throughout the process, Beston Group’s staff provided all necessary support to ensure that the needs of SlavkaSk n.o. were fully taken into account – both in terms of the technical design of the equipment and the preparation for delivery.

This collaboration is not just a technological investment, but also the beginning of a long-term strategic partnership that supports our organization’s goal: the promotion of efficient, environmentally friendly waste management solutions not only at a regional, but also at an international level.
